Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) is one of the best and highest budgeted public universities in Bangladesh and it is the premier seat of higher agricultural education and research in the country. It is situated on the western side of the old Brahmaputra river covering an area of 1200 acre, 3 kilometers away south of Mymensingh town. It was established as the only university of its kind in Bangladesh on 18 August 1961.The main task of this university is to tone up the quality and standard of higher agricultural education and to produce first-rate agricultural scientists, agriculturists, and researchers for shouldering the responsibilities of agricultural development of the country. Bangladesh Agricultural University has forty-three departments under six faculties.
